We invite you in the US to support poor farmers around the world by contributing to World Renew’s program account at Foods Resource Bank (FRB) on FRB Sunday, April 23, 2017!
Maybe you’ve heard the acronym FRB and aren’t quite sure what it is, or what the relationship between World Renew and Foods Resource Bank is. Simply put, Foods Resource Bank provides a way of fundraising for food security programs, including those implemented by World Renew.
When your congregation gives on FRB Sunday, your donations help World Renew reach subsistence farmers through agriculture projects that are funded by our membership in Foods Resource Bank.
You might also consider whether your church could get involved in a growing project. This could be a church garden where produce is sold to support World Renew’s FRB projects or a community-wide project where all the churches in your area join together to plant and harvest acres of crops!
If your church is already involved in a growing project, great! You might want to use this opportunity to show appreciation to the farmers that make the project possible.
You can also highlight the types of programs that are funded through the growing projects and the difference that they are making around the world, as shown in this video from Niger.
Some churches use the special offering to support their own growing project, and others send the funds to World Renew designated to FRB so that we can use it to support the food security projects that are currently underfunded.
