About this Mission Trip

Tarboro, North Carolina

January 18 – April 11, 2020. Groups volunteer typically for one week.

Group Size

1-20 people

Age Requirement

Must be 14 years old and anyone under 18 years of age must have adult supervision.

Scope of Work

The primary focus will be on drywall, trim, flooring, etc. in houses and mobile homes that have flood damage. In some cases, foundations or piers may need work. World Renew DRS facilitator will be on-site to coordinate your work projects.

Accommodations and Meals

Your group will stay in a community center which has been outfitted with two-bed bedrooms, a kitchen, a community living area, shower trailer, wifi and plenty of restrooms for up to 20 people. There is also hook-up space for 4 RVs.

There is no cost for housing. Your group is responsible for travel costs and meals.

Skill Level Requirement

No particular skills are required, but it is highly preferable for each group to have at least one skilled person who can take the lead on group projects. There will be a World Renew DRS facilitator on site who will coordinate work projects that align with your skills.

Tools and Materials

World Renew DRS has a trailer on site. Materials are provided by either our local partner, the United Methodists, or the homeowners on whose homes you will be working.

What to Bring

Must bring bedding and/or sleeping bag, towels, and personal toiletries. A general list of what to bring can be found in Preparing to Serve.
