Administrative Specialist

World Renew has a full-time opening for an Administrative Specialist in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This position will provide administrative support to the CORE Marketing & Communications staff, CORE Team Leader, intake and schedule marketing projects and answer World Renew main telephone line.

PURPOSE:

Provide administrative support to the CORE Marketing & Communications staff and CORE Team Leader; intake and schedule marketing projects; and answer World Renew main telephone line.

The administrative assistant will respond to the Associate Director, Marketing & Communications

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide administrative support to CORE Marketing & Communications team members and CORE Team Leader
  2. Intake new marketing communication requests; schedule projects and tasks within the team
  3. Provide telephone coverage each day; arrange for telephone back-up as needed, respond appropriately to all telephone calls, and process telephone/in-person donations
  4. Perform data entry tasks including gift entry and address updates
  5. Compile and upload stories of transformation as well as write and submit monthly prayer requests
  6. Run and upload various reports each quarter or as requested; schedule bi-weekly prayer leaders
  7. Update World Renew’s information for various entities and carry-out small projects as assigned
  8. Schedule logistics of all routine activities as well as assist in the preparation of reports and presentations including compiling agendas and minutes for the Team Leader and CORE Marketing & Communications staff
  9. Serve as front desk back up for greeting visitors and answering phones once a week
  10. Perform other duties as assigned

  10. Good writing skills with thorough knowledge of correct grammar, punctuation, spelling, and general business English
  11. Demonstrated ability to perform simple mathematical problems and advanced computer knowledge of all MS Office and Google Suite products is required including competency in database utilization (data entry and retrieval)

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  1. Some college coursework is required
  2. Work experience in an office setting is required
  3. Exposure to donor recognition best practices is an advantage

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must be fluent in English; possess well-developed communication skills both verbally and in writing.
