Sadoc Aguilar Palma

Sadoc was born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras and has lived in Honduras all his life. Sadoc has been working with World Renew in Guatemala since 2013.

Sadoc attended Zamorano University to study Socio-Economic and Environmental Development.

During his four years of study, he volunteered in several projects that worked with environmental conservation, sustainable agriculture and gender equality. After graduating in 2003, he began working with organizations and companies that focused on agriculture development. He also began attending a Christian Reformed Church in Tegucigalpa. After attending the CRC for a couple of years Sadoc met Beky, his wife.  They both share the same passion for rural life and especially towards helping families improve their livelihood. They have a three children, a daughter named Rebeca and two sons named Aaron and Mateo.

God Never Forgets Us

When World Renew’s local partner in Guatemala, the Presbyterian Service Committee of Kekchi paid a visit to her village 3 years ago, Teresa considered it a response to her prayers.

Transforming Lives, Building a Better and Healthier Future

The Presbyterian Kanjobal Service Committee (COSPREK) is one of the organizations that World Renew is supporting, and Laguna Nueva Linda is one of the communities where COSPREK is working. Last March a team from Escalon CRC came again to connect with, learn about, work with, and support these efforts, especially in Laguna Nueva Linda, providing a donation this year for the construction of a kitchen and dining room for the students of the school.

Joy and Hope

(GUATEMALA) In 2012, the Christian Reformed Church in Pease, Minnesota, inquired about coming alongside World Renew Guatemala and one of its partner organizations, Vine and Branches. The resulting relationship was created with the shared objective of living out the Word of God through the Bible and collaborating actively in community transformation.

A New Way of Life for Micaela and Her Community

(GUATEMALA) In Baja Verapaz, Guatemala, there is a small community called Cabulco where every inhabitant is from an indigenous background and lives by the customs they have been taught since childhood. Micaela López Teletor, now 47 years old, is a lifelong resident of Cabulco who is from the Maya Achi ethnic group. Micaela remembers growing up in a poor household with few resources.

Education Based on Dialogue

(GUATEMALA) In December, World Renew Guatemala facilitated a learning event called, “Education Based on Dialogue.” The event consisted of a four-and-a-half-day workshop in which the participants learned about adult learning theory, facilitation techniques, and the basics of designing a learning session.
