World Renew seeks a Content Specialist, well-versed in both long form content writing and advertising copy to deliver creative, high-quality copy that appeals to our audience, attracts donors, and boosts brand awareness

Overview

The Content Specialist is equal parts copywriter and content marketer with a talent for delivering creative, high-quality copy that appeals to our audience, attracts donors, and boosts brand awareness. Types of copy will include ad headlines, brochure and flyer content, blog posts, social media posts, direct mail and receipt copy, email copy, church fundraising campaign content, magazine articles, white papers, video scripts and website copy. This position is right for you if you’re well-versed in both long form content writing and advertising copywriting. Responsibilities

  1. Write clear marketing copy to promote World Renew’s poverty alleviation and disaster response ministry
  2. Research, write, proofread and edit content before publication
  3. Collaborate across fundraising, engagement, volunteer, and marketing departments to generate a content strategy that can be integrated into all current marketing efforts (social, paid, organic, video, church, email, direct mail)
  4. Conceptualize, write, and implement the annual world hunger church fundraising campaign material
  5. Conceptualize, write, and implement domestic disaster response church fundraising campaign material
  6. Coordinate, write, and submit regular articles to the denomination’s monthly magazine and monitor the agency’s coverage
  7. Plan, write, and submit periodic denomination magazine and other advertising, and church bulletin announcements
  8. Write donor proposals, reports, receipt letters, mailing stuffers and other communication material
  9. Identify donors’ needs and gaps in our content and recommend new topics through research and conversations with World Renew’s fundraising team
  10. Perform other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervise occasional interns or creative contractors.

  5. Experience creating content for printed brochures, web and video
  6. Excellent organizational skills

  8. Project management skills and an understanding of how to manage the priorities of multiple projects

  10. Ability to collaborate across multiple teams effectively
  11. Disciplined, self-motivated work style, proactive
  12. Advanced computer knowledge of all MS Office and Google Suite products
  13. Knowledge of the Reformed faith/tradition as practiced by the Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRCNA) and knowledge of CRCNA constituency an asset (World Renew is an agency of the CRCNA)

Additional Information

  1. Bachelor’s degree required, in English, communications, or marketing preferred
  2. Minimum three years of proven work experience as a content writer, copywriter or similar role
  3. Knowledge of international disaster response and/or writing for fund development is a definite asset

Language Skills

Proficient in the use of the English language is required.
