Gladys Mwangi joined the World Renew Tanzania team in May of this year and serves as our Tanzania Program Consultant, taking the lead in World Renew’s partnerships with the Africa Inland Church Tanzania.
Born and raised in Makueni County in Kenya, Gladys is the daughter of a pastor and teacher who are both farmers.
Gladys attended primary and secondary school in Makueni District and then earned a BA in Sociology and Economics from the University of Nairobi in 2008. She then went on to earn a master’s degree in Community Development and Project Management from Egerton University in 2016.
Gladys began her career in development with a focus on organizational capacity building, implementing food security and livelihood resilience programs. After six years, she moved to South Sudan to work as a consultant for the private and government sectors.
Then in 2017, Gladys worked in monitoring and evaluation for a social enterprise in Kenya. Gladys says that the greatest reward of her career is seeing effective programming and devotion come together for positive change. She is motivated by the World Renew mission of transformation which she believes is the mission of Jesus Christ.
