Later the banks of the Niger River overflowed and caused flooding to occur in the region of Tillabery in the north and in the capital city Niamey. A tree fell on their home during the storm, damaging the roof. The rain water just poured in. She didn’t know how to treat the water damage and now her entire house is full of mold and mildew, and her kids are sick because of it. She doesn’t have the money to pay anyone to fix her home; she doesn’t know what to do,” said Richard Anema, a volunteer with World Renew’s Disaster Response Services (DRS).
