VolunteerCitrus County, Florida - Disaster Response Mission Trip
This is in response to Hurricane Matthew, October 2016.
In October 2016 Hurricane Matthew hit eight counties with severe storms, high winds, and flooding. World Renew Disaster Response Services has partnered with Catholic Charities in their efforts to help rebuild in the Citrus County area. Over 2,800 household registered for recovery assistance.

Scope of Work
General reconstruction, remove and replace sheetrock, insulation, trim, roofing/siding, electrical, plumbing, and flooring.
There is a local construction coordinator who will assign work projects that are appropriate to the size and skill level of your group.
High school age and up. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Skill Level Requirement
It is helpful to have a couple of people with construction experience in your group, but this is not required. The local construction coordinator will provide guidance on work projects.
Accommodations and Meals
Housing is in various churches around the community. Most churches have a capacity of approximately 40 people. All the church facilities offer a place to sleep with cots, restrooms, showers as well as a kitchen to prepare your own meals.
There is no fee but a donation to your local coordinator/housing facility is encouraged. Your group is responsible for all costs associated with your trip. World Renew DRS does not charge for arranging group mission trips.
Tools and Materials
Materials and basic tools are provided and coordinated by the local construction coordinator. Skilled tradesmen are encouraged to bring their own tools if possible. This should be discussed with the local site coordinator during the planning process.
What to Bring
Must bring bedding and/or sleeping bag, towels, and personal toiletries. A general list of what to bring can be found in Preparing to Serve.
