Volunteers are needed to help up to 200 tornado and flood survivors still struggling to fix their homes.

Age Requirement

There is no strict age limit, rather, this site relies on the organizers of your group to determine what is best for your group. Any volunteer under 18 will need a parent or guardian to initial the liability release form.

Scope of Work

While it is always nice to have highly skilled volunteers to help other members of your team, teams of all skill levels are welcome. A local construction coordinator will provide guidance on work projects.

Accommodations and Meals

The volunteer house has 50 twin size bunks/beds spread among 5 rooms in dorm style housing. Private accommodations for couples or those requiring an individual room can often be arranged, based on availability, and with advance notice.

Separate male and female baths are located on the 2nd floor along with the housing. Both baths include 3 showers, 3 commodes, and 4 sinks. Washers and dryers are available for the use of the volunteers.

There is a large kitchen available for meal preparation. It includes 2 stoves, 3 refrigerators, a microwave, freezer, ice machine and all of the necessary meal prep equipment.

RV Hook-up: There are 6 RV hook-ups available at a church is located about a 25 minute drive from the volunteer house.

Cost

The cost is $25 per person/night. Fee is payable to the local organization in Hattiesburg.

Your group is responsible for all costs associated with your trip.

Tools and Materials

All building materials are provided.

Most of the larger tools, power saws, tile cutters, ladders, etc., are available.

It is recommended that teams provide their personal hand tools, drills, etc.

What to Bring

Must bring bedding and/or sleeping bag, towels, and personal toiletries. A general list of what to bring can be found in Preparing to Serve.
