This is a response to Hurricane Florence in October 2018

Your help is needed to repair homes to help survivors recover from the flooding, wind damage, and storm related challenges experienced following Hurricane Florence.

About this Service Trip

Where

Dillon, Marlboro, Chesterfield, and Marion Counties in South Carolina, depending on skill set

When

Any time throughout the year.

Group Size

2-100 people

Age Requirement

All volunteers must be 14 years or older. For youth teams we require a 1:5 adult to student ratio.

Scope of Work

Roofing, drywall, flooring, finishing work (painting, trim, installation, etc.), and other home repairs.

Accommodations and Meals

Each lodging option has classroom/bedroom spaces for volunteers. Volunteers are asked to provide a twin size air mattress to ensure space accommodations are available for larger teams. Showers are available in either a house or in a shower trailer.

All lodging accommodations have a fully equipped kitchen. Volunteers are asked to supply their own food.

Cost

There is no fee. Your group is responsible for all costs associated with your trip.

Skill Level Requirement

All skill levels are needed for our recovery efforts. We ask that teams have a team leader knowledgeable in construction; however, we also can provide that expertise if necessary.

Tools and Materials

All materials are provided. Tools can be provided if needed; however, if volunteers have access to tools please bring them with you.

What to Bring

Must bring bedding and/or sleeping bag, towels, and personal toiletries. A general list of what to bring can be found in Preparing to Serve.
