VolunteerSea to Sea – Truck Driver

The truck driver drives the gear trailers and portable kitchen facility from one campsite to the next.

  • Skillset needed: Ability to drive a large trailer, Canadian Class 1 license, US CDL appropriate class /air brake designation

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The truck driver will be responsible for ensure the transport of the gear trailers and portable kitchen facility from one campsite to another.

  • Monitor vehicles for maintenance and repair.

  • Work the camp team to set up and tear down of vehicles.

  • Have the appropriate license – in the US CDL with appropriate class/air break designation, in Canada Class 1 license.

  • Serves as point of contact for cyclists.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Detail oriented with the ability to work independently and with minimum supervision.

  • This position requires physical stamina.

  • Licensed driver with clean abstract.

  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills


  • All volunteers receive support provided by Sea to Sea staff.

Time Commitment:

The Sea to Sea tour runs from June 26, 2017 to August 31, 2017.  The time commitment will be as agreed upon by the applicant and the Sea to Sea Tour Director.

Expectations of all Support Volunteer Staff:  

  • Must agree with the mission and purpose of the tour.

  • Must agree to a background check.

  • Must be at least 18 years old by the start of the tour (June 26, 2017)

  • Must have a valid passport.

*If you do not have a passport, please allow for ample processing time.          

  • Must be physically, mentally and spiritually fit.

  • Must provide your own tent and other accommodation related equipment.

  • Must provide own funds to cover travel costs to Vancouver and home from Halifax.

  • Must have adequate Medical Insurance.  The bike tour will not be providing supplemental health insurance for the participants.  It is up to each individual to have medical insurance that covers services in multiple states and countries.

  • Must be willing to take basic first aid and CPR courses.  Any costs incurred will be reimbursed.
