Scope of Work
Severe flooding left much damage in the area in and around St Louis. The exact location near St Louis in which you will work (and be housed) will be determined during the scheduling process. In any location, work projects include but are not limited to, repairs from flood/water damage, sheetrock, flooring, trim, painting, etc.
There is a local construction coordinator who will assign work projects that are appropriate to the size and skill level of your group.
Must be 18 years or older.
Skill Level Requirement
It is helpful to have a couple of people with construction experience in your group, but this is not required. The local construction coordinator will provide guidance on work projects.
Accommodations and Meals
Housing is in various churches around the community. In each case, there are showers and a kitchen available. Cots and in some cases bunk beds are available--details available after exact location is determined. Bring bedding, pillow, towels.
Depending on the location, the cost will range from a donation to $10/person/night, payable to the local site coordinator. Your group is responsible for all costs associated with your trip. World Renew DRS does not charge for arranging group mission trips.
Tools and Materials
Materials and basic tools are provided and coordinated by the local construction coordinator. Skilled tradesmen are encouraged to bring their own tools if possible. This should be discussed with the local site coordinator during the planning process.
What to Bring
Must bring bedding and/or sleeping bag, towels, and personal toiletries. A general list of what to bring can be found in Preparing to Serve.
