About This "Facilitated" Site
This site is a World Renew DRS Faciliated site. What does this mean? We have on-site World Renew leaders, called Facilitators, who will welcome and orient your group as well as help to coordinate your work projects on the ground.

When to Volunteer
January 18 – April 11, 2020. Groups volunteer typically for one week.

Scope of Work
The primary focus will be on drywall, trim, flooring, etc. in houses and mobile homes that have flood damage. In some cases, foundations or piers may need work.  World Renew DRS facilitator will be on-site to coordinate your work projects.

Age Requirement
Must be 14 years old and anyone under 18 years of age must have adult supervision.

Skill Level Requirement
No particular skills are required, but it is highly preferable for each group to have at least one skilled person who can take the lead on group projects. There will be a World Renew DRS facilitator on site who will coordinate work projects that align with your skills.

Group Size
1-20 people

Accommodations and Meals
Your group will stay in Tarboro, North Carolina, in a community center which has been outfitted with two-bed bedrooms, a kitchen, a community living area, shower trailer, and plenty of restrooms for up to 20 people. There is also hook-up space for 4 RVs.

The World Renew DRS facilitators will be in communication with your group leader ahead of time to negotiate how meals will be coordinated and prepared in a centralized way that works for all those there that week.

There will be WIFI in the building.

There is no cost for housing. Your group is, however, responsible for travel costs and meals.

Tools and Materials
World Renew DRS has a trailer on site. Materials are provided by either our local partner, the United Methodists, or the homeowners on whose homes you will be working.

What to Bring
Must bring bedding and/or sleeping bag, towels, and personal toiletries. A general list of what to bring can be found in Preparing to Serve.
