World Renew and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
From 2000 to 2015, poverty-fighting organizations around the world, including Christian agencies like World Renew, contributed through their international ministries to eight Millennium Development Goals established by the U.N.
Many of the results of this global effort to end poverty and hunger are impressive.
At the end of 2015 the United Nations examined the successes and shortcomings of these goals, and despite significant gains, extreme global poverty is clearly not over. Leaders from 193 U.N. member states committed to working toward 17 new goals that they will use to frame their agendas and policies in the next 15 years.
These new Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) address ending extreme poverty, inequality and injustice, and climate change through 2030. These goals are highly interrelated, mirroring the strategy of World Renew. Since 2016, World Renew’s ministries with people living in hunger, poverty, and disaster have been contributing to these worldwide goals in sustainable, transformative, and Christ-centered ways. Help us continue working toward these goals as we strive to Live Justice, Love Mercy, and Serve Christ.
