As Hurricane Ian struck Florida with 155 mph winds, please join World Renew in praying for homeowners in Florida and the loss of livelihood, possessions, and homes. Hurricane Ian Cleanup Crews are now working in Volusia County, Florida. We hope to send more teams through the rest of November and perhaps beyond. If you are interested in helping with chainsaw work, debris removal, and general cleanup, please contact Chris at [email protected] Individuals and groups are welcome!
Hurricane Fiona left immense damage in Puerto Rico, creating landslides, washing-out roads, and leaving nearly half the island’s population without electricity. As a post-tropical cyclone, Fiona hit Eastern Canada with hurricane-strength winds and heavy rains, washing at least 8 homes into the sea and causing residential flooding. Please pray for all Puerto Ricans and Canadians affected by this storm’s devastating destruction.
DRS is working with partners to monitor early cleanup/recovery efforts from the Kentucky Flash Flooding. DRS Regional Managers & staff are reaching out regularly to churches and organizations in the affected areas. We are actively seeking the best possible DRS response to this situation. Currently, we are responding to the winter Kentucky tornadoes and Washington flooding from late 2021. Watch the Opportunity Link & our Facebook page for future updates & opportunities for your group to serve.
Global Volunteer Opportunities
World Renew takes responsibility for its management and support of individuals and volunteer groups seriously. After reviewing risk management protocols weighting that against the current COVID-19 breakouts along with the rollout of vaccinations for North Americans and the countries where World Renew normally conducts individual placements, discovery tours, corporate groups and church partnership visits against the risks associated with physical in person placements, a decision has been made that no volunteers or teams will be placed for the remainder of 2021.
In keeping with our philosophy of “do no harm” and to ensure safety for our staff, partners and communities, travel and in-person visits will resume when the health and safety of our communities and its members can be assured and once the International COVID monitoring response team has green lighted international travel for volunteers and groups.
