Our Food Security Work

Food security means knowing where your next meals are coming from—not just for today, but for the weeks, months and years to come. It also means knowing the food will be nutritious enough to lead active and healthy lives, and fuel the futures of children.

We work with families so that they can develop the resources needed to fight hunger and improve their ability to grow and raise their own food. Through World Renew, families receive the training, tools, seeds, and support to grow crops and raise livestock sustainably, even as they face a changing climate.

Climate-Adaptive
Farming

We help communities learn climate-adaptive farming methods tailored to their local climates. These sustainable farming techniques increase crop production, while helping to tackle climate challenges such as pests, drought, and weather.

Farmer Field
Schools

Through Farmer Field Schools, farmers learn from “lead farmers” who champion new farming methods in their communities. With the use of test plots and sharing of local farming knowledge, farmers gain valuable hands-on training.

Family
Nutrition

We provide families with tools and training so they can grow nutritious food in their own backyards. With kitchen garden kits, as well as animals like chickens and goats, families can improve their diets and achieve lasting food security.
