World Renew is Responding to Growing Humanitarian Needs in Lebanon

March 2026 – As the escalation of conflict across the Middle East deepens humanitarian needs in Lebanon, World Renew is working through a trusted local Christian partner to support people left vulnerable by the intensifying violence.

In the days following a rapid rise in regional hostilities, airstrikes across several areas of Lebanon have resulted in significant casualties, widespread displacement, and mounting pressure on already strained social and economic systems. Tens of thousands of people have fled their homes in search of safety, compounding Lebanon’s prolonged economic instability and limited access to essential services.

According to the United Nations, 2.99 million people in Lebanon are in need of humanitarian assistance. In just 24 hours, 29,000 more people were newly displaced, adding to 62,000 existing internally displaced persons.

“Families across Lebanon are facing fear, loss, and deep uncertainty,” said Garry Mayhew, Head of Humanitarian and Emergency Affairs at World Renew. “In moments like these, our calling is to respond with compassion and steadfast hope—working together with local leaders who are already serving their neighbours with courage and care.”

As needs evolve in this rapidly shifting situation, distributions may expand to include milk, hygiene items, emergency lights, tarps, heating, and other basic necessities.

While World Renew acknowledges that the violence has impacted people across multiple countries, at this time they are focused on helping provide support where the need is greatest, where a trusted local partner is present, and where those affected have no other resources for relief. With more than 14 years of experience walking alongside communities in Lebanon, World Renew and their local partner are well‑positioned to respond while continuing to monitor the situation across the region and seeking opportunities to share Christ’s hope with people affected by this crisis.

In moments of urgent need, your gifts provide life-saving relief and ongoing support to those who need it most. Please join World Renew in prayer, stand with those impacted by this crisis, and give generously to our response to the conflict in the Middle East.
