World Hunger

The rates of food insecurity around the world continue to climb. But what if you changed the story of hunger for good? In one year, 100% of farmers in the Central Rift region of Kenya working with World Renew increased their food production. Set a goal to help World Renew bring that same training to thousands more around the globe.

The rates of food insecurity around the world continue to climb. But what if you changed the story of hunger for good? In one year, 100% of farmers in the Central Rift region of Kenya working with World Renew increased their food production. Set a goal to help World Renew bring that same training to thousands more around the globe.

Understanding the Hunger Problem

1. Climate Change

From annual floods in Bangladesh to droughts in Zambia and food deserts in Honduras, changes in the climate are causing traditional farming methods to fail in the communities where World Renew works. People can’t grow enough to eat, which in turn means they can’t save enough to send their children to school, start businesses, or improve their lives.

2. Lack of Support

For most of us, planning for the future means developing skills to chase our dreams, purchasing tools to help accomplish our goals, and saving money to cover expenses and unexpected challenges along the way. Families seeking food security require the exact same support but often struggle to find the training, tools, and community banking they need to succeed.

3. Global Issues

Complex political and economic crises like conflict, displacement, and high inflation have an enormous effect on global supply chains, leading to food shortages and higher food prices. Right now, there are over 80 million people around the world who have been forcibly displaced due to conflict—leaving them without access to enough food. No one is more affected by these global crises than families already living in poverty, but your support will help to end hunger.

Becoming A Hunger Solution

A gift of $50 provides a farmer with a goat which will give milk that can be sold for a profit. $200 gives a farmer the supplies they need to grow enough food for their family for an entire year—and the skills they need to change their story of hunger for a lifetime. That’s such a small price to transform the future of a family. This year, we plan to reach 2,500 farmers so they can change their story of hunger for good. How many families could you inspire your community to reach?
