Ukraine: Holding Onto Hope During Conflict

Ukraine: Holding Onto Hope During Conflict

In February 2022, the world watched as violence in Ukraine escalated, leading to loss of life, family displacement, and widespread destruction. Two years later, the conflict tragically continues. However, thanks to the generosity of World Renew supporters, affected families are moving forward with hope—hope for peace, future dreams, and God’s love and mercy.

World Renew is deeply grateful to donors who have shown compassion and generosity in extending God’s love to those in profound need. We also appreciate our partners in Ukraine and surrounding countries, who tirelessly support those in distress.

Through our network of humanitarian organizations, we have responded to the immense needs of displaced and war-affected families. Together, we have delivered emergency food, shelter, and essential items like hygiene kits, blankets, and winter gear to 613,753 people. This support has been a shining light in the darkness of this conflict.

Lyubov is among the 3.7 million internally displaced within Ukraine. Forced to flee her home due to the violence, she now resides in Novoukrainka.

“I woke up at 4 a.m. and I understood that the war had started,” she recalls, struggling to hold back tears. Despite losing her home to a missile attack, she is grateful for the food, hygiene packages, and psychological support from World Renew. She continues to hold on to hope.

Thank you for sharing God’s love with thousands like Lyubov who have suffered unimaginable losses. Families in Ukraine and the region still face enormous challenges such as displacement, job loss, destruction of homes, and ongoing violence. Your gifts provide life-saving support and a sense of hope amidst this conflict.
