What do workers gain from their toil?
I have seen the burden God has laid on the human race.
He has made everything beautiful in its time.
He has also set eternity in the human heart;
yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.

— Ecclesiastes 3:9,11

Saban wondered what she was gaining from her toil. Her husband had migrated to the city to try to make money and Saban spent every minute trying to grow food to feed her children.

Years ago, Saban had been seriously sick, but Christian visitors to her village prayed for her and, “it was like a miracle,” she remembers. “I felt better.” Saban thought about going to the community church, but felt she couldn’t spare the time.

Decades later, Saban began agricultural training with World Renew and our local partner, KADRA. As she learned more effective ways to grow vegetables and trained in the raising and selling of chickens, her income grew so much that her husband was able to return home. They were able to find a new balance in their lives.

“I could find time to go to church regularly,” she says. “My new agriculture skills allowed me time for agriculture and life. I truly believe that Jesus is alive because he sent KADRA to help me and my family.”
