Rashida | Community Health Counselor | Bangladesh
When Mother’s Village local partner SATHI started a women’s group project, Rashida eagerly joined. She became an active member and learned about the importance of providing the best care for children in the first 1,000 days of life.
Today, Rashida teaches pregnant and lactating mothers all the valuable lessons she learned, lessons like: the benefits of vaccinations, proper health and hygiene practices, proper nutrition, and more. Rashida also learned about vegetable gardening and poultry rearing. These opportunities have helped her provide nutritious meals and earn an income to help support her family.
She feels a sense of accomplishment knowing that she helped create a better life for her family, her community, and herself.
