Inspired by the Arab Spring that was sweeping across the Middle East in late 2010, many Syrian civilians took to the streets to protest, demanding the resignation of their President. By April 2011, the Syrian military responded with force and Syrian soldiers began firing on protesters across the country in an attempt to stamp out the uprising. Within a few months the protests turned into an increasingly organized armed rebellion. Full-on civil war ensued. Both the rebels and the military are accused of committing horrendous atrocities, with the Syrian people caught in the middle as victims.

The last quarter of the year may be the busiest period for World Renew in Cambodia. Our partners are finishing all of the activities in their annual plan. The damage that typhoon Yolanda inflicted was not limited to just individual homes but also affected many businesses and infrastructure. While the government had hoped to get some hydro back before Christmas, sadly this is not possible without external assistance. Neither of these achieved category-three status or higher, and only Tropical Storm Andrea made landfall in the U.S.

I ask God to give me peace about the challenges that people who live in poverty face every day, especially the children.

(KENYA) Agricultural and Small Animal Livestock Production: Ndeiya Food Security Program in Mt. Kenya. One of the common oversights found in agricultural and food security interventions in developing countries is a focus on productivity that doesn’t take into consideration post-harvest management, marketing and/or value-addition practices.
