A Tale of Two Farmers in Uganda

World Renew’s partner organization Pentecostal Assemblies of God — Kabale (PAG) has begun to promote conservation farming practices in two pilot communities through their agricultural field officer named Dan Byamukama. The conservation farming method taught by World Renew land PAG, called Conservation Agriculture (CA), provides a biblical basis for organic farm practices.

Although I’ve worked in South Sudan (and in neighboring Sudan) for several years, the Yei area and the work of World Renew in this county were new to me when I arrived on August 12. I had flown from my home in the UK and met Ken Little from the World Renew Canada office at Cairo Airport. We then flew together to Juba, the capital of South Sudan.

The strongest typhoon in the world this year, and possibly the most powerful ever to hit land, battered the central Philippines on Friday, November 8, 2013. There are estimates that it could be the most damaging storm of the past century. World Renew is responding in cooperation with its local partners and the international network the Integral Alliance.
