(GUATEMALA) In December, World Renew Guatemala facilitated a learning event called, “Education Based on Dialogue.” The event consisted of a four-and-a-half-day workshop in which the participants learned about adult learning theory, facilitation techniques, and the basics of designing a learning session.
World Renew is pleased to announce that on February 10 it became a full member of the Humanitarian Accountability Partnership (HAP). HAP has pioneered accountability in the humanitarian sector since its inception in 2003. Today, with a global membership whose work spans more than 140 countries, HAP has become a leader in accountability-related certification, training and research in humanitarian work.
NIGER - Welcome to a new video series from World Renew. introducing the topics of Food, Money, Water, and Health through two minute videos.
Yun and Neum live in a humble thatched house. Yet they are sending their oldest daughter to school in the capital city and sending their other children to the local school. Their total cost per month: $125 – a very large sum for subsistence farmers in Cambodia! Through World Renew’s church mobilization strategy, Yun and Neum are able to make ends meet. They received the loan of one cow from a Love Cambodia congregation’s cow bank. Love Cambodia is one of World Renew’s eight church partners in Cambodia.
Last quarter was a busy time of transition for World Renew Tanzania. At the end of December, we said farewell to our country director, Margaret Njuguna, who has worked with World Renew for 30 years (19 of them in Tanzania). Margaret is moving back home to Kenya to start a center for disabled children. We wish her all of God’s blessings as she begins this new chapter in her life.

PHILIPPINES - Two and half months out, there are a number of differences I see on this trip, while many things remain unchanged, waiting endlessly for help to come. On this trip, my boss Wayne de Jong and his boss Andy Ryskamp came along, which you can read about their experiences in their own blogs.
